Pittsburgh Po’boy

Ben Dougherty first began The Pgh Po’boy in 2014 in a stall in the Pittsburgh Public Market. The Pittsburgh Po’boy offers traditional cajun creole inspired comfort food in a fast casual atmosphere. In 2015, with the help of a Kiva loan, he was able to take the Pittsburgh Po’boy completely mobile. These days, The Pittsburgh Po’boy is a staple in the Pittsburgh food truck scene.

Owner and Chef, Ben Dougherty, spent time living in New Orleans and developed a deep passion for the local food as well as their culture. He turned this passion into The Pittsburgh Po’boy. The Pittsburgh Po’boy makes everything from scratch including po’boys, rice and beans, bread pudding and gumbo.

“My goal is to bring the spirit of New Orleans to my hometown of Pittsburgh!” -Ben, Owner

Speaking of his experience with Kiva, Ben said, “It’s an amazing thing to have a community at your fingertips who believe in your vision and help to support you.”

When you see the bright yellow Pittsburgh Po’boy truck rolling down the street, you cannot help but notice, so why not stop and try a po’boy! The Pittsburgh Po’boy is determined to offer the best New Orleans inspired food and atmosphere wherever they go!
