Alyssa Boehringer became a member of the Urban Innovation team in the Fall of 2011 as a PCKIZ intern.  She has since transitioned into the role as Director of Internship Programs and the Pittsburgh Central Keystone Innovation Zone Programs. Since her tenure, she has grown the Urban Innovation21 Internship program to become the largest and most diverse innovation economy based internship program in the region. Over half of all interns are female and 40% are underrepresented minorities. As Director, she plans, develops, and coordinates all of the internship and PCKIZ program’s initiatives in support of strategic plans. Throughout her work, she maintains a strong relationship with all interns, innovative economy companies, and community based businesses partnered within the programs.

In October 2014, Alyssa attended the One Young World conference in Dublin, Ireland as a delegate; which is a global conference for individuals who have demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to effecting positive change in their communities.  She has contributed as an article writer for the Pittsburgh Promise’s IdeaPod Magazine and is a member of the Pittsburgh Human Resource Association.

In 2012, she earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management at Point Park University. Alyssa has experience with government and public service having interned for U.S. Congressman Altmire (Beaver County) and U.S. Senator Lautenberg (Newark, NJ). In 2010, she graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration. While attending Clarion, she served as secretary of the Political Science Association and was a member of the Clarion University softball team.

Alyssa grew up in Beaver County just 40 minutes north of Pittsburgh. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her son Jack and volunteering at local organizations. She is also an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams!
